different things work for different public. I tried eharmony and not many were in my area – that isnt my major gripe though, what irritated me about eharmony is how controlled it is. I couldnt just talk to someone if i wanted to – I couldnt even pick who I wanted to talk to- they chose for me who they thought would fit based on an hour long multiple page questionaire I had to fill out. I reflect its like $60 a month now for one month, theres no chat room in the site, you cant browse profiles, you’re sent a list of public they reflect youll match up with and they send your profile to certain public based on THEM thinking who you’ll match up with. All based on how you answered the questions… I wouldnt join again- give me more frankness, let me chat with public, pick who I want, and browse and lower your price, then we’ll talk. But go for it if you want.

I tied eHarmony back in September and I really like it… although I don’t really use it any longer because I’m unofficially dating someone that I met on there (we’re not officially together yet but it’s headed in that direction… I’m seeing him again for the third time in a couple of weeks).

Anyway, another person mentioned about the guided communication and not being able to choose who you talk to. While that’s partially right, it’s not necessarily a terrible thing.

The site matches you with public based on if they are compatible with you in regards to your personality profile. Personally, I received many matches (it got up to over 60 public). But I was concerned with quality, not quantity. I was looking for someone I may possibly have a serious relationship with and eventually marry. I didn’t care if they were in the same city or five hours away or even on the other side of the country (the guy I’m talking to is about 4-5 hours away).

About the guided communication… you send and receive multiple scale questions with a match with checking out their profile, and then you question and answer fleeting answer questions, and eventually you send emails through eHarmony. Then, with my case, we exchanged AIM screennames… then exchanged phone numbers… then really met. But, there is an option to skip the guided process and go straight to open communication. I haven’t used that feature so I don’t know the details, but the option is there.

I’m just one person and one example. Some public have accomplishment and excellent experiences with eHarmony, some don’t. I was keen to take a chance (and fork over some money… it is expensive but I thought it was worth it) and it worked out. You may or may not have luck with it, you just have to be keen to take a chance and see what happens.
